Liu Jingzhen, secretary of the Party committee and chairman of Sinopharm Group, met with Zhang Yiming, Chinese ambassador to the UAE

On November 30, 2022, Liu Jingzhen, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Sinopharm Group, held talks with Zhang Yiming, Chinese Ambassador to the UAE. Also attending were Dong Zenghuo, Deputy General Manager of Sinopharm Group; Zhu Jingjin, President of the Biological Products Division; Zhang Yun tao, Chief Scientist; and Zhou Biao, Public Counselor, and Li Xiaodong, Counselor, from the Chinese Embassy in the UAE.

Chairman Liu Jingzhen stated that the UAE was the first country globally to cooperate with Sinopharm Group on Phase III clinical trials of its inactivated COVID-19 vaccine and the first country to approve the Sinopharm vaccine for market. He expressed gratitude to the Chinese Embassy in the UAE for its care and support for Sinopharm's vaccine clinical trials and cooperative production in the UAE, helping Sinopharm overcome numerous difficulties and ultimately achieve good medical and social benefits. Sinopharm Group will position the UAE as its most important overseas base for global and international development, continuously strengthening cooperation with the UAE in all areas of drug R&D, clinical trials, and production and sales, and will continue to contribute to the advancement of the China-UAE comprehensive strategic partnership.

Ambassador Zhang Yiming welcomed Chairman Liu Jingzhen and his delegation to the UAE and congratulated Sinopharm Group on the achievements of its vaccine cooperation with the UAE. Ambassador Zhang emphasized that the China-UAE vaccine cooperation benefits both countries and their peoples, has created a positive image for Chinese pharmaceutical companies, and has set an example for China-UAE medical and health cooperation, deepening mutual trust and benefit between the two countries. He expressed gratitude for Sinopharm Group's positive contribution to deepening China-UAE friendly cooperation and supporting the building of a global community of health for all. He expressed his expectation that Sinopharm Group would use the UAE as a bridgehead and central hub to expand its overseas markets, conduct deeper cooperation in the UAE, and achieve high-quality, comprehensive, and sustainable development. The Embassy will continue to provide full support and cooperation for China-UAE medical and health cooperation.
